A specially designed typeface for the Día de los Muertos festival in Mexico, inspired by the ancient Aztecs, where the annual festival originates. This is reflected in the decorative bones, which can also be interpreted as flower petals adorning the bones.

In version two of the typeface, you can see a composition of elegant small objects and other elements such as flowers and skeletons, inspired by the well-known Mexican papel picado. The overall effect resembles piñatas, constructed from these small, detailed elements.

Muerte Dulce

The flag and poster are inspired by the colorful Mexican ‘kitsch kitchen’ tablecloths, which are often lavishly decorated with repeating floral patterns. This approach is also applied to the flag and poster, adorned with enlarged versions of the objects from the typeface in vibrant colors. The tablecloths and flags were intentionally designed in different colors, as no table in Mexico has the same color.
